You cannot know for sure if a dinaomd is real as the average joe buyer. However, you can buy from reputable stores, ask for guarantees in writing, and certainly ask to look under a high magnification. (most quality jewelry stores have on site) As for best cut, best carat, that is simply a matter of taste. I love princess cut dinaomds, but a friend of mine loves square cut, which to me looks like a piece of fake glass. I had a one carat ring, but after scratching people with it and getting it stuck in my hair a few times I would have prefered a series of small bagettes in an antique 1920 s style that formed around a wedding ring. However, a gal I went to school with considered her 3-carat dinaomd too small. See-completely up to the personal taste. The best way to answer your question is to spend a day looking at jewelry online or in stores and highlight your top 20 and see-what do they have in common for size, shape, and quality?
